OPEN HOUSE AT UPTON BRANCH LIBRARY
The Upton Branch Library will be hosting an Open House on Wednesday, April 14 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. to introduce the public to the new children's books received from the Libri Foundation Books For Children grant.
The Upton Branch Library was awarded a "Books For Children" grant from the Libri Foundation. The grant is a 3-to-1 grant. The Weston County Library Foundation raised $350.00 for this grant and the Upton Branch Library then received $1,050.00 worth of children's books. We were also awarded a bonus grant of an additional $350.00 worth of math and science books from Hal Berenson and Laura Ackerman through the Libri Foundations Book for Children grant. In total the Upton Branch Library received $1,400.00 worth of children's books.
The Libri Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to donating quality children's book to rural public libraries. The Libri Foundation provides booklists for grant recipients to choose book titles from. All of the book title choices are award and honor winners and have been reviewed by the Libri Foundation review panel.
The $350.00 matching money was raised during the Fall book and bake sale held at the Upton Branch Library in October 2009.
We hope you will attend our open house on Wednesday, April 14 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and look over the new titles that have been added to the collection from this generous grant and for us to say thank you for helping to raise the matching funds needed for this Libri Foundation grant. Your support is very much appreciated.
